I just picked up a used Nashville 400 at a fairly good price (under $200 after tax!). The amp is working fine, however the BW has been replaced with a Peavey BlackWidow 1505-KADT 8ohm speaker, I know I want to replace this as soon as possible, however, would it be better to purchase a new speaker, or can I just get a replacement basket for a 1501 4ohm and bolt it on? The magnet is NOT the flat style with the white spider on the label, it's the rounded magnet. Thanks in advance.
I found the peavey mods ont he peavey site (WAY TO GO PEAVEY!!! It's about time that an amp company will put the mods info so readily available to techs!!) So this will be another project. |

Gino, as long as you clean the magnet gap out thoroughly, a 1501-4 sb(shallow basket) should work fine.
Since our website was updated a few months ago, some of the information is slowly being posted again. The mod kits were on our website for a couple of years prior to our update. We thought that the mod kit information should be available for everyone to view(instead of IC chips that are masked!), so we let all of our customers know what the kits consists of. There is no secrets to mod kits, just ingenuity, a good ear and skill!
