Suppose I was willing to give up a little tone, anyone have a recomendation for a steel suitable 15" speaker that would be lighter than a JBL or a Black Widow?

Hello Jay;
I was also looking for an answer to the same question as you have..I am trying out a Weber 15" California 8 Ohm speaker right now.It has the aluminum dust cover just as the JBL & the Black Widow..You do have to "play with & adjust" all of your amp tone controls but i do believe a sound close to the one we are used to can be dialed in..I put this speaker in a seperate cab & have a Fender Showman Reverb amp head hooked to it right now..So we will see...Later..Ron

I replaced a JBL in an Evans amp with one of their Eclipse speakers over 20 years ago. It was much lighter than the JBL, sounded as good if not better, and handled every bit of power I could give it. Definitely recommended!
