I use one of these for a practice amp/low volume small gig. It works quite well and I like the tone. I am re-tubing and would like to use a slightly lower output tube to replace the 12AX7 in the driver stage directly before the EL84 power stage. Any suggestions on a substitute? And which of the 3 12AX7 tubes is the driver tube?

Thanx

I don't know which is the output, but I like using an AT7 instead of an AX7. It's about 75% of the gain of an AX7, opposed to an AU7, which is about 50%.
