I have an old Standel tube amp
Model is 80-L15 Ser is 1192-1.
Anybody know the age or how I could find out.
The amp is still in working condition But I am afraid to gig with it for fear it could get damaged. I practice with it at home and it has a killer sound.

I have #3102 and it's a '59. I only take it to clubs where women land on guitars and not on amps...

Bob, have you tried contacting them? Their website only lists about the first 30 or so amps that they made. For more info, e-mail Dan Mckinney at this address, and he may be able to help you...

Yes, it also has the original D-130, which I've taken out and put in a box for safe keeping and replaced with an Altec 416. I've been bouncing back and forth between the 416 and a 421A. The Altec, to my ears, has less 'roll-off' on the bottom than the D-130 and more 'shimmer' on the top. Next week I'll have put something else in there and the week after I'll be back to the D-130.

Mine has been changed over to 6l6s. It puts out about 35 watts clean on a scope. That seems to be plenty of power. It also has a K-130 speaker.
I sent an e-mail to Standel and Danny says that it was built in 1960-61.

Joe, you might swap out the K for a D or a D-130F, I had one and I ended up giving it away, it didn't seem to have any life in it.
