When I first got my steel guitar, I bought a "Special 212" Peavey amp with two 12 inch Sheffield speakers, but my guitar never sounded good through it, so I bought a "Nashville 1000." Both amps are the same size and weight and both have a power amp. Does anyone recommend hooking these together for better sound quality? I don't want to damage my "Nashville 1000."

Hi Leslie and welcome to the Forum,
Lots of guys play through two amps and there are a couple of ways to do that. Many volume pedals have one input and two outputs and you can send a signal to each of your amps directly from the pedal. If you use a stereo processor you can send each side of the stereo output to a separate amp and control the effects' mix from the processor. This setup gives you a nice stereo field for choruses and delays.

| Hooking the two amps together is as simple as running a cord from the input of one amp to the input of the other. You'll get more sound, but not necessarily better sound. |
