I am trying to decide between the .155 or the
.225 George L cable. The .225 is a little more expensive. Is there an audible sonic difference? I have read many comments about the "fragility" of the .155. I do have some of the .155 already and I've got to admit that it is very thin. Does the .225 solve the coil- lying flat-tangle problem? I've been using some Belden cables which are ok, but just got some Audio-Technica "audiophile" red cables which are much brighter. The only problem is I bought ten foot lengths which is fine for home, but not long enough for jobs.....So, hence the GL quest.

| Steve, I have both and I can't tell any difference in either. The heavier cable is red and I think that sells it. As far as being fragile, you just have to clip the ends and reconnect them every so often on both size cables. Now you know as much as I do! |

| I just bought a 100' roll of the GeorgeL "red" in the .155 as is most my cable. I do have the .225 cable 25' from my line-out into a PA snake/direct box on my Webb. I haven't detected any difference in sound. |

No diff in sound, .155 takes up less room in my pack-a-seat and lay better. These cables are the answer.

| I have been using the George L's .155 cable for quite a few years and have had no problems. George L's is now making rubber boots that go over the straight AND angle ends that give you strain relief and an easier time plugging in and unplugging. The boots are available in four different colors if you color-code your stuff. The .155 wire is hard to coil at first (memory from the roll that it's on) but it loosens up with some use. I can't imagine playing without it! |
