If not the original( which has got a great sound), Lawrence 710's. Don't even think about it.

Jamie,

Visit the Carter Website and you can hear the different Lawrence and GeoL pu's. I use a GeoL 10-1 on my wood neck Sho-Bud and really like it. I listened to them all , chose the 10-1 and I am very satisfied with the sound of my Sho-Bud.

Regards, Patrick

Seymour Duncan has a ten pole single coil in his "Antiquities" series that might be interesting. It seems to me that Geo. L's have a more modern sound, which may not be what you want if you like the Sho-Bud
sound.

If you play with some overdrive, the Antiquities sound like God's own Strat in a lapsteel...

I've got a friend's Sho-Bud Professional here with a 705 Lawrence on the E9th neck. This pickup was installed about 1980 or 1981. Sounds AWESOME.

I would reccomend tdhe Bill Lawrence 910 narrow mount, if you are looking for a full rich sound. I have one on my LDG and you can get just about any full tone you want from it.

Which ever you choose, be sure to measure your "slot" because some pickups might not fit. That is why the suggestion above for the narrow pickup. I was told that Sho Bud changed the size of the hole somewhere along the line.
