That's a good price for it. But I'd still recommend buying it from Big Jim Baron ( bigjim4b@madnet.net ) because he's a steel player himself, and he's willing to answer the innumerable questions you'll have once you start using this amazing program (like, "hey, where's that button that makes it do this?", or "Help! I can't find a decent Ray Price shuffle style in this thing; know of one?", or "How do I get it to transpose just one verse of the song into another key?", etc., etc. For the extra $20, it's DEFINITELY worth having someone you can email for help!
A very satisfied customer,
jc

Earl,
You can try here:
http://www.pgmusic.com/bandbox.htm
You can go to the computer section of the Forum and read many other posts about BIAB.
Also your post will most likely be transfered to the computer section.

You would be well advised to deal with Big Jim Baron - a fellow forumite- who is a Band in a Box guru and sells AND SUPPORTS the software as well as a number of other products- his email addresss is bigjim4b@madnet.net although rumor has it that he is currently fishing in Oregon [This message was edited by Jim Palenscar on 13 May 2002 at 12:50 PM.] |

I've been working with a Boss DR5 for some time and have been wondering how BIAB compares. BIAB seems to be THE popular unit. Anyone familiar with both? |

Big Jim is absolutely the guru of Band in a Box and is willing to help anyway he can. I have been using it now for about 3 years and it is a very amazing program. I use a Roland sound module hooked up to my computer and the tracks (after some alterations in styles) sound like they were done in a studio. Its a great program and in my opinion much better and more user friendly than the Boss.
