Is there somewhere on the net that I can go that contains a Dictionary or Glossery of all the common electronics, effects pedals, filters and other equp. commonly used (ex.compressors, chorus pedals) on stage? I was thinking mabey a list of each type of device and then mabey an explination of what each one does, its desired sound and most common applications, etc. Until now I have played in mostly acoustic set ups and electrics on clean settings. So the only effects I've ever really messed with is a chorus pedal. I have really gotten into the 60s & 70s country-rock scene over the last year and need some help finding the right tools for the job. |

The go to the effects page and they have lotsa articles on effects. The effects database is pretty cool, if you wanna read user reviews of oddball pedals.

Brandon,
If you are looking for books of effects three come to mind. In no perticular order:
1. Effects and settings, Hal Leonard.Pocket guide series.
2. Bonehead guide to effects. Hal leonard. guitar world pub.
3. FX cookbook. Hal leonard.
Some sample set ups are given, they talk about the order that pedals should be placed in for maximum versatility, there a likely other but those are the three best sellers that I carry in my music store.
