The Stringmaster is originally set up with a 3-way switch and a toggle. Now I've seen them wired several differnt ways. I wired mine to where in one toggle position...all three necks are on. In the other toggle position; the 3-way is activated and independantly works each neck......so all the way up is front neck..middle is middle neck and down is back neck......so each neck has a full load on it.
This to me is my favorite wiring..but I have seen them wired to where you can have just two necks on at once...or one neck or the other two or whatever man........too confussing to me and I like a full load to a neck when I'm playing just that neck.
Have fun.

Ricky,
My 1960 triple neck is wired just like yours. Was this the stock wiring or a modification?

When I have both necks active on my D-8, the tone between them is more consistent. I used to have a problem that the back neck didn't cut through the mix as well as the front neck. Leaving them both turned on solved that.

When recording, I only have one neck active, though. Better tone that way!

I'm sorry I lost my Schematic in my huge pile of paper work..........I am still looking; but no luck.
I got it from John Ely and if you can locate him; he will fix ya up if ya tell him I said it's ok
