Hey Folks.....

Please Don't spray the needle type tuners !!!!

I wind up repairing these type tuners on a regular basis, What happens is:

The cleaner (which has oils in it,believe me) will after a period of time, cause the needle movement to become slugest and not always go to the prober point everytime. this is due to frection at the bearnings and the needle pins. Anything that halts the free movement of the needle will result in a non-true movement and a non-true tuning of said meter.

No matter how carefully we attempt to keep the cleaner away from the meter, there will be a deposit of such to build up over a period of time. I suggest a de-natured alcohol to clean switches and internal pots and trimmers. Under NO conditions, ever turn any pot or trimmer inside of the tuner !!

Simply use a small amount of alcohol on a q-tip and work the switches a few time to clean them is all that is suggested.

For what it's worth.....

I've got a TU12H that I've had for at least 6 years. The only time it has acted flakey is when the battery is low and needs replacement. That's all I've ever done to the tuner. I carry it in it's case inside my seat.
