I go to this jam session in Gastonia NC on Saturdays and one of the guys brings his Fry Pan. Man, that is one sweet sounding steel.
His is Aluminum and the strings come up through the bottom. He let me play it and I didn't want to give it back.

Several years back I was invited to play one of the original early day models, not the remake.....and one week before I was to meet with the gentleman, he died! I feel I really missed out on something. His daughter got it in the will and will not sell it or even let anyone look at it. Sadd.

Yah Ray, that is sad. I picked up a beat-up old Rick frypan in Hawai'i a few years ago. I am sure the previous owner(s) must have used it as an outrigger paddle. Man, is it ever an ugly beast. Anyway, a few days after I got it, I was sitting in with the Kamaiinas at the Elks in Waikiki proudly playing this old guitar. I looked into the audience, and guess who was sitting there! My hands froze on the spot. I asked Him to come up and play a few tunes which He did. (I accompanied on r/guitar.) I couldn't believe it was the same guitar...it sounded so beautiful in His hands. Need I say more ?

George,
This must have happened quite a few years ago. I'm assuming that the "Him" you referred to was in fact Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi Who ? Hardly. "Him" referred to the Master of Touch and Tone himself of whom I hold great respect and admiration.

My mistake, you're obviously talking about THE tonemaster, old crazy legs himself, the one and only Jeff Beck. I had the opportunity to see him in concert recently and you are correct he is the master of touch and tone!

There is only ONE Master of Touch and Tone and he is 83 if I am correct. Lives under a palm tree in Hawai'i.

Oh, of course, George is refering to Jerry ... Jerry Murad, of the Harmonicats ... the master of touch, tone (and spit).
