Mike, I have used a smaller "400" series Power head in conjunction with our Church's XR 6oo Head as a source of 3 or 4 more channels and it worked fine. Question ---I am trying to buy a used small head like a 400 or 500 series but if I remember correctly, some of the older ones required being hooked to a speaker to relieve them. Any advise ? Hello Bill,
I'm not quite sure which "400" or "500" series that you speak of, but all of our solid state power amps can operate with no speaker load.
