I have an Emmons LaGrande D-10. I love the stock pickups but the hum has got to me as of late. I installed E-66's in both necks.
I just love the E9 neck sound but the C6 seems to me a little lame and not quite as hot in output. It is an older E-66 in the C6 and the one one the E9 is new. I lost a lot of that bottom end thump and sting on the C6 that I like.
What ever the answer may be I want to get some smoke back in the C6. I have tried a Lawrence unit in E9 but not C6.
Could this be why Carter installs the GL 10-1 in the C6 neck?
Thanks,
John

I'm moving this to pedal steel. That's the area pickup questions such as this usually are.
