What is happening is it's quite quiet before I hit a note. But after I hit a note, chord or whatever, there's a hissing sound that stops after the note dies. It's not terribly loud, but very noticable at any volume. Help!
I truly love my Profex. Fact is, I've been using it for my guitar also and get some great clean sounds for jazz...
I forgot to ad that I had it "LeMay" modded. Best $50 I ever spent except for Joe Wright's technique bundle.
Thanks for any and all help. |

Hi Brian,
Sounds like you have either the noise gate or the compressor on in your setup.
Check and see if you have either cm (for comopressor; not entirely sure) or ng for noise gate.
What is happening is your unit goes to total silence and then you hit a note and hear the typical noise.
Regards,
Mark T.

If you are using the noise gate, try the settings I have for my Transtube Fex. It doesn't exhibit the noise you have. I think the noise gate parameters are the same in the Profex II and the Tube/Transtube Fex units.
Got to my web page and then click on the button for the Profex II and Transtube Fex listings. Then open the Transtube Fex listing and copy the noise gate parameters.
