Can anyone tell me if the Tubeworks RealTube RT 902 is good for steel and the ballpark value for one in real good shape? Thanks

Yep - the 9002 is great for steel, IMO. I've ABd several preamps against this, and I like it the best. Ballpark price I can't help you with - I haven't seen too many of them floating around. Check and see if the one you're interested in has the steel mod.

Thanks Steve. The preamp is not a 9002 but a RT-902. I can find the 9002 listed but can't find out anything about the 902. I have a chance to get one at a real good price but I want to make sure that it is something that I can use. I have a home studio so I was thinking that I might be able to use it for other things too.

Larry, the Tubeworks 902 is an earlier model of the current 9002. As Steve said, these things are great for a pedal steel guitar rack rig, or as you plan to use in your studio. The 902 can also have the steel modification done to it per TubeWorks. www.genzbenz.com |
