Had regular size cabinet Evans in early 80's sent it back in a week, terrible. I bought one about 3 years ago new that is great, love it. I also tried the smaller cabinet Evans and it is very good too. I like the sound a little better of the full size cabinet but if you can buy itr right and like the sound should do the job. If I can find one for the right price (small cab) would buy it myself to carry less weight. Its a good amp don't be afraid of it.

I use an Evans FET-500 LV with a small cabinet and it is my choice of amp for pedal steel.

I just restored the prototype for the Hybrid 300 Evans. What a sound! A local steeler here in town uses an Evans and he has a really rich tone.

Al, it has the factory Evans 15 inch Eclipse. I have never experimented with different speakers in it, so I don't know what it would sound like. I have compared it , using the same guitar to several other amps, and like the Evans best. My thinking ---- it comes closer to the old tube sound.
