I play a U12 E96 tuning with a Walker stereo steel rack-mount amp/preamp combo with 2 12" B/W speakers and a Lexicon MPX1- very similar to what your friend is fixin' to do. I love the sound and Gerry is ALWAYS there if ever help is needed for anything- whether it be questions or tech. info or custom jobs, etc- |

I play U-12 and after toying around with all kind of pre-amp/mixer combinations, I bought a Walker pre-amp. I liked it so much that I immediately bought a second for another guitar rig that I'm able to keep at work. I only bought the pre-amps because I already had several stereo power amplifiers (QSC, Crown, Adcom) but after hauling some of these amplifiers around, I'm sorry I didn't buy his combination amplifier. It only weighs 13 pounds.

I play U-12 through the Stereo Steel Preamp and an Alesis Quadraverb which was programmed by Gerry Walker for me. It is the best sound I have ever had.

I LOVE my "Stereo Steel Amp". It has a warm yet powerfull sound, it's dependable, rugged, and the three lightweight units make it easily transportable. Add these attributes together with the fact that Gerry Walker is a great man to do business with, and you have a winning combination. |

Me too, Jim. Reece got my personal "tone to the bone award" that year at Dallas. I'm using a Walker stereo steel now too, and I wouldn't leave home without it.

Got me a GD Walker Amp/Preamp combo with the two 15" JBL cabs and have never looked back, great tone and lots of power, not to mention it's easy on the back. |
