Jack, I've been looking at a Peavy LA 400. It has a 15" BW speaker. What is the difference between this amp, and a Nashville 400? Is it any good for PSG?

Thanks

Jim, I've never seen an LA400 and don't have a schematic for it. Can't tell you anything about it.

Contact Mike Brown at Peavey.

I have a LA400 that I use at the Church where I play. I play through the house system and only use it for my monitor, and I needed something fairly small. Mine has a 12" BW speaker and loads of power, and it sounds good with anything I've put through it, steel, electric, and acoustic/electric guitars.

Jim,

I have an LA400 I bought back in the mid 80's. The speaker in it is a 12" BW, unless they had more than one version of it.

I use mine for my steel, and love the sound I get from it. very rich sounding clean channel, and a good reverb. It's basically the same power amp as the Session and Nashville, I believe, but it has the second channel (lead channel) for playing lead guitar.

I really don't know how it compares to a Nashville. But I like mine a lot, both for steel and lead guitar. Just keep in mind, the size fools you on that amp. It is a VERY powerful and loud amplifier. 210 Watts RMS into that internal speaker.

Peavey's web sight has a user manual available in PDF format you can download.

Good luck
