I have been looking for something simple to use for rhythm while practicing/playing. A metronome just dosen't cut it.
My instructor showed me what he uses, a Korg Super Drums, DD-110. That fits what I am looking for. Problem is I don't think Korg makes it any more. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a similar device? Or do you know where I might find a DD-110?
Thanks

Here is some free software written by a steel player. Your computer can become something better than a metronome.

Download "Basic Beats". I like it.

The best drum machine for the price is the Alesis SR16. It is usually priced around $199 new and I've seem them for sale on here for less than $125. It has 50 pre-programmed drum patterns and will take care of anything except a 3/4 beat. You'll have to program that in, but it's fairly easy.

There are other drum machines around but for the price it can't be beat.

You can program 3/4 rhythms on the SR-16.

I found a little download that emulates a cheap drum machine right on your computer. It's really meant for the techno crowd, but with a little fooling around you can create your own patterns. Good enough for practice, and best of all, it's free.
