I am considering a multi-effects unit. This seems to be a popular one on the forum. I would like to get some feedback/info on the different series of these, and features. I pick this one because I don't want to spend and arm, and a leg. Any information and experiences will be appreciated.

If you are going for one of the Profex models make sure you get a Profex II.
The current production models are the Transtube Fex and TubeFex. These two models are basically the same except the TubeFex has 12AX7's in the analog preamp and the Transtube Fex uses transistors that are designed to emulate tubes in the analog preamp. (The older Profex II does not have the analog preamp section). The Transtube Fex lists for $200 less than the TubeFex.
I've been using a Transtube Fex for over two years in my rack system and it works great. |

Lefty. I have done just the opposite. I now just carry one single amp to my gigs.
I am about to be ready to sell my Profex II, (has LaMay mod) w/ Cache Card, DP750 Power Amp, SKB rack w/ external wiring, 2 Tube Works cabinets w/ 15" black widows, and all connecting cables.

Thanks for the offer. What I am really interested in is an effects processor to use through a single (or at home through dual) amps that I can also use for recording. I am new to the world of effects processors, having always been a stop box man. I want one with a good delay, and programmable.
