Does anyone know who sells Gerber Files for Windows? I tried to look up Gerber on the internet and found nothing. Gerber Files are used in making electronic circuits. No, I'm not looking for baby food. Thanks!

Keith,
I'm not sure about your question. Circuit board design (CAD) programs creat gerber files.

Are you looking for a specific circuit board layout in gerber format? - Good luck, companies keep their PWB layouts proprietary

Are you looking for a CAD program to generate gerber from a PWB layout? - Good ones are expensive. I have downloaded some free PC board layout programs, but they only allow you to print out the artwork and use it as a photo-resist transfer method. It has nothing that provides a gerber output. IF YOU FIND ONE LET ME KNOW!!

Regards,
Terry

Terry nailed it. AutoDesk sells a 'lite' version of their AutoCAD at about $500. Ya need a honkin' PC or lots of time to run it.

Keith,
I have no clue about Gerber Files but is this getting you anywhere? : http://www.apcircuits.net/html/gerbercosoftware.html or: http://www.ipc.org/html/fsresources.htm

I don't know if you did a search using "Ask Jeeves" but it turned up quite a few links: http://www.ask.com/

Here's another link to a page with many search engines combined: http://www.searchlores.org/main.htm

HTH,

André.

Thanks for your answers! Actually I am looking for a Windows based program relating to electronic circuits,to feed to a CNC computerized engraving machine, to cut, "through the hole" boards.

Terry, Mark A. answered my question. You can order "Winboard" from Mouser Electronics. This has Gerber artwork and Excelon drill table files. Every PCB maker wants Gerber files. The next question is how much it costs. I am going to my Mouser catalog right now and find out. Hope this helps. Found it! Actually there are two programs: Windraft and Winboard. Each sells for $29.95. Sounds like a winner, especially if you want to design circuts on your computer.
