What is the correct way to hook up a Peavey TubeFex to a Nashville 400?Is there only one way?Different ways? What I am after is the Best way.
My present hookup is this:
Steel to TF Signal Input
TF Left Mono to Nash 400 Input(Front Panal)

I have a Transtube Fex, which is basically the same except solid state, and according to Peavey and Mike Brown the preferred way is to connect the output of the unit to the POWER AMP IN on the back of the amp. The Tubefex has a preamp/EQ and effects and you don't need the preamp/EQ in the amplifier.

That is how I used to run mine before I got my rack system.

I run my TubeFex the same way that Jack just described, out of the unit and into the "Power amp in", and this works very well for me. I'm playing an old pushpull, into a SteelDriver II and that into the TubeFex. Lets me get just the sound I want, without going thru the rack mount ordeal again, although I am considering buying one of Jerry Walker's "Stereo Steel" rigs. But at this time, this is the best that I've found.

Good luck!!

Hello Jerry,
Call me and I'll run you through the various hookup configurations and what they would affect. I think this subject would be a bit lengthy for discussion on the Forum. My number is 1-877-732-8391, which is toll free in the U.S..
