this rick seems to be mint, but, even so, I've never seen a post-war 6 string with 1 1/4" p/u and tailpiece go for such a price.
Maybe its the immaculate leather case that pushed the price up ?

Nah, it's the tuner. Those Hawaiian guitar pitch pipe tuners are rare and becoming more collectible. I'll bet the winner throws away the guitar and adds the pitch pipes to his collection.
Geez, time to sell my guitar.

I think it was a shill bid. The bidding took one jump from $600 to $1000 on the last day.
