Try a proper sequencer program- you should be able to get Steinberg's Cubasis or Emagic's Logic Fun free from the CD on the front of an Electronic Music Magazine.
They are pretty pricy for the full version, but you would only want them if you were going in for full-on electronic composition.
Both of them make tempo and key changes an absolute piece of cake!
