Has anyone using this tuner experience any degradation of sound by passing their guitar directly through this tuner? Maybe it's just my imagination, but I seem to get better sound by eliminating this unit from my signal chain. Although it's more inconvenient, I usually end up feeding it with an unused output of my pre-amp. |

Of course this doesn't answer your specific question but I use an old Korg DT-1 (it just won't die!) and I cannot and will not use it in the signal chain. Maybe the battery was low last time I tried but it seriously degraded the signal. You're right, it's less convenient, but I feed it via a side-chain too. |

I have noticed that things sound better when signal doesn't pass thru the tuner but I have noticed that not all TU-12 tuner do this.

I have a TU12H and I haven't noticed any degredation with it in line, but I don't normally run it the line or even use it much anymore since I got the Peavey Transtube Fex with built in tuner.
I have an old Korg WT12 and it will load the signal and screw it up. |
