I'm looking at preamps for recording. My forum search was very informative, but I have a question.I notice alot of players recommending the evans preamp, but it seems to be more for live w/ a power amp then for recording. Is this because it does'nt have a dedicated record out? Or am I mistaken?Your insights & comments will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have one of the ESPA single rack models. I record on a Tascam 4-track and it works fine. It's a lot quieter than my Profex 2.

I primarily record with my Boss GX-700 preamp, but my Evans combo amp has a balanced, low-z output that sounds great for recording. I believe the Evans rack mount preamp has stereo low-z outputs. |
