I found a used Ampeg SVT pre amp for a reasonable price(considering buying) and would like to hear from anyone who has tried one.

I used to run 2 of these in my rack for upright bass gigs, and they sounded great. I have 3 Ampeg amps, an old 300 watt all tube SVT, an SVT 3 pro (tube pre / solid state), and a 100 watt rocket bass combo. They all seem to sound pretty good with my pedal & lap steel. No reverb though. One good thing about the SVT pre-amp will be that you can run your volume pedal through the effects loop.
