I read some positive remarks about this guitar processor a year or so ago. Does anyone have any personal experience with it for recording direct or for use as preamp with an amplifier? Are there any known problems with it?

Thanks.

You can get most of what it does with a cheaper box, the Boss GX-700.

I need lots of knobs for quick editing. The GX-700 is pretty good in that way.
All these Roland and Boss units have some bad noises in them, like hiss in the compressor, and digital artifacts on some of the effects.
