One thing about Kenny G., if all you have to practice on your sax are pentatonic scales-it leaves you time to become the number one golfer among musicians.

On the links, he would take Ditka down-hard! Steamroller could play "best ball" and combine their score in that format, and Gorelick would still win the round!

The guy that blows me away is number two ranked musician/golfer, Vince Gill. Playing a guitar like he does, singing and writing some fine songs- and playing scratch golf-now THAT'S impressive!

There was a joke going around awhile back...
Q: You're in a room with Adolph Hitler, Idi Amin and Saddam Hussein, and you've got a gun with only 2 bullets.
Who do you shoot?

A: Kenny G & Michael Bolton

Janice, doesn't this belong in the humor section instead of music?

Mannheim Steamroller definitely.

Kenny G is playing 4-5 dates of a
traveling festival here in Thailand.

Fortunately Mcoy Tyner is ALSO on the bill.

Nothing closer than a one hour flight to Bangkok,
or 3 hour drive to Phuket,
where I just came back from.
Ah well.

Mannheim Steamroller.

Enough compositional chops to make me take it seriously as "music." Not just "lifestyle music."

Full disclosure: my exposure to Kenny G has been blessedly limited.

Preparation H isn't a cure for Kenny G but it does shrink him. Mr. Donald--given the opportunity, I'd definitely say aw, Phuket.
