No pedal steel involved but for you guitar players, I just got back from the Fryeburg Fair in Maine where Nashville's Johnny Hiland (and Maine home-boy) was tonite's feature performer. Holy smokes! - he absolutely tore it up on his new Paul Reed Smith "Johnny Hiland" model electric guitar. Interesting set list with a little country, rock, Texas blues, and jazz - sort of a mix of Danny Gatton, Albert Lee, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani styles. The PRS guitar had the clearest harmonics I've heard on an electric and with various pickup combinations sounded anywhere from a Strat to a Tele to a Les Paul. Great bass player and drummer in this trio as well...all that and the guys braved the elements to play outdoors on a 38 degree nite. Johnny is also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Check out his playing on www.johnnyhiland.com

I saw him in Nashville a couple of years ago at Roberts. He's a monster.

Johnny is awesome, and you couldn't name a nicer guy. He played on a friend of mine's album and was gracious enough to let me play the "prototype" JH signature PRS.
