If you sing as well as play, be very careful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYRnG_-YH68

Was that an SM58 !!???

I once had a vocalist the band chip a tooth due to a similar accident, but I never saw anyone swallow a mike.

When I was first starting out,I had this guy get me three four times one day at an outdoor gig. Each time I told him to approach me on the side for his request after his drunken apologies. But each time he would grab the stand and lean in on me. The third time was the worse he cut my lip. The fourth time I saw him coming and I non chalantly had him meet the edge of my guitar neck. Oh and like he did I apologized, but just once.

Years ago, I worked with a harmonica player who liked to show off. He was certainly a good musician and played all sorts of styles. His favorite trick was with a miniature harmonica that was about 1 inch long. He put it in his mouth and played some tunes but one time he coughed and swallowed it. I often wonder what was the end result. I asked but he never talked about it although he claimed to have recovered the instrument.

Just don't sing "ya, ya, ya,", then that can't happen.

I wonder if the person lived through that. Gee what if it shorted out?

That's just plain sad.

I hope someone knew the Heimlich maneuver
