Greetings, I come across this 6 stringer the other day. Appears all original with gray case & legs. Some of the guitar finish worn on edges, like from use, not abuse. It's a yellowish finish (aged white?). The pickup cover is like a chromed 'hood' like I've seen on Magnetones. Is this correct?? Thanks for any info here.

Could be that you have a steel guitar manufactured by Leo Fender and named after Forrest White, Vice President and General Manager of Fender from 1954 to 1966.
Check this picture to see if yours looks similar.

If it is a White lap steel, those typically sell for more than the comparable Fender Champ lap steels which they resemble.

Thanks, Brad. That's what it looks like & it has the "White" logo on it, but the pickup cover is different - chromed, where the one in the picture looks like a formed or molded plastic. Also, the fret board has numbers silked-screened in next to the "block" markers. Anyway, I'll probably get it, but don't think it's a deal to write the girls back home about. Thanks, again.

Picked up guitar today. It is as the picture w/molded plastic cover. I was having a 'senior moment' when I thought it was chrome metal. Just tried it for a few seconds at the store to see if it worked & it IS a "Fender" underneath. Thank You.

I used to have a Fender lap steel that had the fret numbers screened into the fretboard design. It had been refinished, and didn't look quite the same as the one in Brad's picture. What other models had the fret numbers? (Cool idea...)
