A few years ago I saw a documentary about The Weavers called "Wasn't that a time" made in 1982. In that documentary Nina Simone appeared and sang a song (not on stage, but I think in the livingroom or kitchen). Does anybody know the name of that song she was singing? Meine.

What a wonderful film.
I haven't seen it in years and I do not recall Nina Simone at all. One song that I associate with her that would fit in the whole Weavers civil/human rights vibe would be "I Wish I Know How It Would Feel To Be Free". But there's plenty of other songs it could be.

It might have been "Strange fruit."

I think the Weavers did the best recording of "House Of The Rising Sun" I've ever heard.

Pete Seegar, Ronny Gilbert and Fred Hellerman are all still alive.
