Dealing with PTSD,Agent Orange, The VA, and a wonderful group of folks who served in Pleiku, has prompted me to write and record this song... "Welcome Home".

There is no steel guitar in it at present and I tried several different approaches. It just didn't seem to lend itself to steel...
perhaps my playing limitations...

warning... per usual, my singing sucks.

Also... this song is totally apolitical. It is a song for veterans.

Thank you... I rewrote the intro vocals and a tad of the last verse last night and uploaded a slightly different take.
Here are the lyrics:

"Welcome Home"

You know, sometimes we forget to thank people for all that they do for us.
Sometimes we forget that duty, honor, and country, are more than just a phrase.
This is my welcome home song for my brothers and sisters from every war

The streets are quiet now
Silence ends the day
You carry in your heart
The time you spent away
But never forget this
As long as there's a day
You're back where you belong
And here you'll stay
Welcome Home

Now you don't hear the guns of war
Cept only when you dream
The fear, the loneliness
Is just a fading scene

But never forget this
As long as there's a day
You're back where you belong
And here you'll stay

Welcome home, welcome home my friend
Thank you for your time
The friends you left behind
Walk silent by our side
If you should need a hand
Just reach out, we'll be there
You'll never walk alone
That's why we're here
Welcome home, welcome home
Please don't fear

This song is for all of you... Welcome Home.
