Hi,

I'm ready to take steel lessons, but I don't have a steel yet. I'm looking for a good, clean, used S-10 with minimum 3+4.

So, what's out there?

Thanks,
Ed

Gary gives good advise. The Desert Rose student model is a good guitar. Also, it can be traded in on the pro model when you're ready for it.

Wow! What a great response!

First, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and interesting offers. Although I've only been a member for less than a day, you folks have proved the value of this forum. I'm overwhelmed!

Second, as a newbie, I'm relying mostly on my teacher's advice on the choice of a first steel. I'll forward the offers I've received on to him. I also appreciate the good advice I've received from you folks which will also help with my decision.

Last, here's a little bit about myself. I've played 6 string off and on from the mid '70s. Unfortunately, it's been a lot more "off" for most of the past 10 years or so. I just got back into it this year and I'm having a ball. I'm mostly into blues and country (stuff like Emmylou when Albert Lee was in her band). I've always dug the sound of the steel, so here I am.

Thanks again to everyone,
Ed
