Got a phone call tonight from my lifelong friend Tony Douglas. I played steel for Tony when he first got into the music business. He is still doing concert dates and is beginning a tour with Freddie Hart, Leona Williams, and Frankie Miller. For you folks who remember Tony and liked his music, his web site is www. tonydouglas.com. It was great to hear from an old friend. Sometimes we forget our friends of the past. I am going to correct tht situation. Jody.

Hey Jody, yeah man Tony's a great guy and I've heard him put on a show a couple of times in the last couple of years. Great country music with lots of feeling and lots of steel guitar.

Jody,
My dad was great friends with his brother Pacus(sp?) Douglas. I remember as a child Pacus would come over to the house and he always drove a Cadillac. I have some of Tony's 45's (records) I've never met Tony but I remember his brother being a great guy to us kids.

Glad to hear Tony is still picking.
I was one of the 2 staff fiddle players on the old Cow Town Hoedown here in Ft.Worth when he and Frankie Miller were members.
I saw Frankie a while back at the ET record shop in the old stock yards.Glad they are both doing fine.
That was the time i was getting in to steel guitar also.Tracy/Al

Hi Marlin, Pecas sang harmony on one of Tony,s 45 singles called "Just Too Much To Lose". That was a great session. Buddy Emmons on steel and Jimmy Day on bass. Jody.

Anyone know who Tony's band the Shrimpers were?
Bobby Garett was a member in the mid to late 1960s, just wondering if anyone knew the other pickers.

Chuck Jennings was band leader for many
years, and as far as I know Chuck still
plays with Tony. Harland Powell was also
with the band as was Bob Bone on Fiddle.
That's all the ones I can recall at the
moment.
Chuck and Harland went on to play with
Box Car in Branson for years, after moving
back to Texas Chuck began playing with Tony
again.

Jim Kirkland played bass for a while, JR. Knight and Larry Simmons(Bobby Garretts nephew) played steel at different times. Freddy ?????? played drums. Tony had great musicians in his band. Chuck Jennings is still with him and Bobby Tuttle is playing steel. Bobby Garrett also went to Branson to work for Boxcar. Harlan moved to bass and Bobby played steel . Tony will be in Sulphur Springs, Tx, April 21 and Chrockett, Tx, on April 22. Jody.
