I just picked up the new Willie Nelson CD today on my lunch break. IT IS AMAZING! The BIG E on steel and Johnny Gimble on Fiddle. The CD is a tribute record to Cindy Walker. Tons of great C6 playing by Buddy.

Anyway, if you like Western Swing and you like some hot pickin' then I recommend this CD.

I was waiting for this one. Very nice music. The record store I bought it from had ordered just one copy and I got it. I guess they don't have alot of hope for big sales on it. Great to hear new stuff from Buddy Emmons.

Wow!

I wasn't aware that Buddy is on it.

That's a slam dunk, I'll have to go pick it up.

I heard the Cherokee Maiden tune from that CD this afternoon on PBS Radio. I really liked it.
Didn't know Emmons was on the CD. I'll be getting a copy soon
Check out this sound byte # 12 on Walmart website.

I asked a very successful song writer by the name of Tony Martin who was my bishop at the time what was the best written country song?
Without hesitation he began to sing, "You Don't Know Me," I asked a friend of mine, Kelso Herston if that wasn't a Cindy Walker song? Of course he said it was. He gave me her phone number and I gave the number to Tony and said that she would probably like to hear from him. (At that time Tony had written eight number one hits.)My bet is that he did not call her. I have a Asleep At The Wheel album that has three of her songs on it. Cindy was a very beautiful young woman, lived with her mother and never married.

I bought the album yesterday and have listened to it all the way through and about the first half the second time around.

Fred Foster's production is outstanding. He really got a great sound on this record. Great pickers, just top notch playing from Brent Mason, Johnny Gimble, etc.

The playing of the Big E is exquisite. I mean it is absolutely perfect for each song. What an artist. It is such a thrill to hear players like Buddy and Lloyd Green becoming more active again in the studio.

Willie-good 'ol Willie. If you don't love Willie Nelson then there is something wrong with you.

My son, who is a little shy of 19, is a fine guitar player, but not much for country music. He is going to be visiting a friend in Hawaii who is a freshman at the University of Hawaii, in late April, and they are going to attend a concert at the Waikiki Shell that will feature among others-Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and the headliner is Willie. He's pretty excited about this.

Whether one loves country or not- Willie transcends generations. He is one of America's treasures.

I have to say that age may be finally starting to slow him down-just a bit-his voice gets a little creaky on some of the tunes-the sweet-as-honey delivery isn't quite as smooth as it used to be, but he still sounds great.

These are such great songs. I think it would be a blast to be in a band at a venue where there is dancing and have nights where you play nothing but Cindy Walker songs.

I was looking at the photos in the booklet and hadn't realized that she was such a looker! I didn't know that she has never married and lived with her mother. Now that's a waste! All that talent and beauty wrapped up in one package.

Cindy has not only been a very talented song writer, as well as singer and dancer, over the years but a wonderful human being. It is very unfortunate that her current health situation does not allow her the pleasure that she deserves to have from seeing the finalization of this album.
