I was watching the reruns of the women's long figure skating programs early this morning with the sound turned off and my trusty Tele revved up, because those skinny little girls usually skate to goopy little-girl music. However, the not-so-skinny, not-so-little Russian Irina Slutskaya was boogying around so enthusiastically I hit the mute button and she was skating to some nifty middle-eastern electric guitar workout - not as cheaply melodramatic as belly dancing music, but along those lines. It was in E harmonic or double harmonic minor. I have googled the usual things with no luck - what was it? [This message was edited by David Mason on 24 February 2006 at 02:33 AM.] |

Drives me nuts when the audience claps behind the beat. |

You know Charlie, maybe they're not behind the beat at all, they're just a lot farther from the microphones. |

I bought a CD by Bond once. Hated it.
That video clip doesn't sound like Bond to me, Jim. NBC's web site says she used "Totentanz by Franz Liszt arranged by Maksim Mrvica". [This message was edited by Bobby Lee on 24 February 2006 at 02:51 PM.] |

Could be, Dave, but frequently the crowd will start right in on the beat but lag if the music speeds up.
My wife's a skater. We watch lots of skating.[This message was edited by Charlie McDonald on 24 February 2006 at 02:59 PM.] |
