I am just getting into lap steel. I found a 6-string Magnatone on the net, and sent the check for it today. It appears that C6, is the standard for people to get started with, so I have ordered Dewitt Scotts book/CD, as well as a SP-2 bar. I assume that the Magnatone will need new strings when it arrives, but I cannot find a set of strings for a 6-string lap steel in C6 tuning anywhere. Based on Bobby Lee's string guage web site, it appears that I should get .036,.030,.024,.020,.018,.015 Will I need to buy individual strings, or can I find a set somewhere?
