You know, that songs seems like it would be pretty easy, doesn't it? After looking it up, maybe my ear isn't as good as I thought it was either.

The problem I've had with the song, is that of the many versions I've heard, there is a fair amount of variation with the chord structure. On the "Hi-falootin" part some go to a minor chord, and others don't. I ended up picking a version I liked (Tune Wranglers), and working off of that--but, it was hard to hear the chords. I had the Chimpmunks version when I was a kid (and still do), and think it may be the first record I ever had?
