Anyone else see the Crossroads edition on CMT with these artists over the weekend? At first I thought it would be a very odd combination, but I really enjoyed watching it. I've like Los Lonely Boys for quite a while now, but haven't heard Ronnie sing in a long time. I must say his voice is holding up quite well. He sounds just like he did 20 years ago. Very good show, check it out.

I totally agree. Those young guys write good songs, sing great harmonies, and are all good musicians. San Angelo Texas should be proud of them!

I really enjoyed the show. It was good to see Ronnie with these guys. So often we hear the overproduced music of singers like Ronnie, and it gets tough trying to recreate on stage that sound. So then the Los Lonely Boys join him and Ronnie's stuff is down to bare knuckles and it had soul. Congrads on the CMT crew, they did a good job.

Roger while watching it last night I wondered if you had caught it. I almost called you and asked. Thought of Bruce and of the first time I heard you play the ride to Stranger In My House. As one gets older they think back to things in life that affect them. At least I do. Anyway I thought it was a good combination.

I know Ronnie Milsap made some glossily-produced cross-over stuff, but he's the real deal!

I'd never heard of him when I went to the London Palladium in 1974 to see Glen Campbell. Milsap was the support act, and had just bass, drums and steel with him. I was blown away by his singing and his piano playing, and the band was excellent (had to be Dicky O., I guess). Despite being 'outnumbered' by Glen's rhythm section, orchestra and back-up singers, he was the hit of the night. I made a big note to watch out for him after that, and I remain impressed to this day.

I'll try to catch this new show...

I just saw the show, and I think it may be the best Crossroads show yet.
Everyone played together like a band, and they sounded like a great band together. Instead of some of the other Crossroad shows where it sounds like some artist trying to jam along with another artist songs.

Very good job and great match up on this one. They should do an album together, and Ronnie should still be on the radio.

I was at the Ryman Show the Boys did where Ronnie came out and performed with them. I hadn't heard him in a long time but I was impressed with how good he sounded. And let me tell you the Brothers Garza can sing. A little too much Wah Wah pedal for my tastes guitarwise

What a great show! I have a lot of respect for Ronnie because even though he's blind, he can still sing and play music. Ronnie is definitely a legend. When my twin brother met Ronnie at a restaurant, he told him that I'm a steel player and Ronnie told my brother to tell me he said for me to keep playing steel. I would love to meet Ronnie.
