I have both and find the longer bar harder to slant, but I'm very used to the smaller one. At first I didn't think so but now believe the longer/heavier bar sounds noticably better.

I'm going to try adding weight to the smaller one using the split-shot sinkers as suggested by Gerald Ross in a previous posting to hopefully get the tone improvement I hear on the larger bar.

I think that the main issue is your string spacing. You want the nose to be able to do this slant:

E___________________
C____________7______
A____________7______
G____________/______
E____________6______
C___________________
C7
If the diameter of the bar is wrong, this will be nearly impossible.

I use a 920, 7/8" bar for everything...I can't do some slants with the smaller Diameter bar..I even have a hard time doing minor chords in G with the 3/4" bar....it's all a matter of what works for you, I guess, and a 3/4 doesn't....I need a 7/8" bullet, even for Dobro.
Aloha,
Mike

I use the big 1" Zirconia on my Sierra laptop, with its wide string spacing, and a 3/4" BJS on the Stringmaster. Neither bar works well on the other guitar.
