Did any of ya'll see David on Midwest Country Sat night? The man has still got it for sure! I've always loved to hear David sing. He's even better than ole Lefty IMO.
Does David still do any touring? That's the first time I've seen him on a country show in a long time. One of the greats in country music.

I was fortunate to do a show with David a couple of years ago. Very talented man besides being a nice human being.

I've done shows with David and his brother Allen the last couple of years (the last one was in January with Allen).

If you think David sounds like Lefty, listen to Allen - he sounds more like Lefty than David (and Allen is a helluva Telecaster player).

well, just my opinion, but I've seen both David and Allen sing on tv shows, and it seems to come natural out of David, but watchin Allen, he seems to be makin himself sing like that. I think David's got him beat a long way.

Terry when you work with them in person, as I've done several times, it's obvious that Allen does Lefty better.

The owner of the club where I work is good friends with David and has known/worked with him since they were both in their 20's and even he says Allen is the one.

David is booked on a regular basis at Midwest Country. At least once a year. One of my favorite Midwest Country Shows was David on the same bill with Freddie Hart. I was Freddie's escort that weekend and it was an experience. Freddie used David's band and it was great to see the two together as old friends and as professionals.

David was the opening act and paid much respect to Freddie during the show. At the end of Freddie's set he had David come out for a couple final numbers. It was a great show. This was about 2002.
