I woke up this morning with all local TV channels in Nashville barking about Bob's assault on a local DJ for not playing the music in a strip club that he wanted to hear.
Bob (Kid Rock) punched the JD a couple of times then left the club, the DJ claims he will prosicute the Kid to the unpth degree permissible under the law. The DJ had a couple of black eyes but was obviously going to live. He should just have Kid Rock sign his face and wear it as a badge of honor. But, I guess he's after a couple of million in a lawsuit.
No one can find the "Kid" so far but I'm sure they will, how does someone that famous hide for very long!
Why do I see so much humor in this? |

Its rare for a club DJ to play anything I like but I don`t care for Kid Rocks antics much so I guess I see humor both ways here.

Interesting story.
Even though some might not agree, I'm moving this to MUSIC. It's not a Steel Event.
I often felt like punching the DJ.
Especially the ones that complain about band volume, then play their stuff twice as loud.
This Kid Rock can't be all that bad. |

Hey Bobbe. Rusty Rhoads was playing steel and guitar with Kid Rock for a while. Rusty is from here in Michigan, but I don't know if he's still with the group? I'll have to give him a call and see if he knows anything more about this.
One thing is for certain though, DJ's are still taking gigs away from working musicians, and doing it for way less than half the pay! Maybe that's the real reason the Kid rattled his skull. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Bobbe, I saw your post title and thought you were talking about his career...
You think he was asking for one of his songs??
Punching DJs in strip clubs seems to be just one of the points on a long spiral down that ends at the Betty Ford clinic. A classic example of what happens to talentless hacks when their 15 minutes runs out. (Ooops, did I say that out loud?) Foruntately my 15 hasn't started yet.

Kid Rock Arrested on Charges of Assaulting DJ at Strip Club in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Feb 16, 2005 — Kid Rock was arrested Wednesday by Nashville police who are investigating a report that the entertainer punched a disc jockey at an adult entertainment club.
The singer was brought before Night Court Commissioner Howard Taradash at about 8:30 a.m. Kid Rock was in handcuffs, and an officer was holding his hat. In answer to questions from the commissioner, the entertainer said he lived in Clarkston, Mich., and gave his birth date, Jan. 17, 1971.
He is charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor. Taradash set bond at $3,000 and Kid Rock remained in custody until bail could be posted.
The rapper laughed and joked with the two officers who arrested him and two others there for the hearing as he stood in the dock a small room with a large glass window that separates defendants from the commissioner and observers.
Authorities said Rock was charged after a 3 a.m. altercation at Christie's Cabaret near downtown.
"Inside the establishment there was a squabble concerning, I guess, the selection of music," Nashville police Sgt. James Smith told reporters. "Again there are no major injuries but an assault did take place."
Television footage from outside the club showed the DJ, identified as Jay Campos, with a red mark on his face and holding his broken eyeglasses.
Kid Rock was among entertainers who sang at a Tuesday memorial service at Ryman Auditorium for songwriter and promoter Merle Kilgore. The rapper, who has performed with several Nashville music figures including Hank Williams Jr., strummed a guitar and sang "I Saw the Light" at the funeral.
Born Bob Ritchie, Kid Rock was a Detroit-area hip-hop DJ when he broke through with 1998's "Devil Without a Cause," which successfully married hard rock beats with rap lyrics.

I guess the D.J. is actually pretty lucky, after it's all said and done. Years ago, I had a fellow Steel Player and Friend (Wayne Kincade) to get shot in a Nashville Club, for not playing the correct song! I guess time has mellowed tempers to a certain extent, but; don't stake your life on it!

Kid Rock. Poooor spoiled little super star. The mean old DJ wouldn't play a song you wanted to hear so you punched him out. Yeah, that's accecptable behavior. I hope the DJ does become a millionaire after he sues the hell outta' "Kid". If he wants to be a "Thug" or a "Gangsta", he can pay for it.
Personally, I think the guy should've picked up the nearest barstool and knocked Kid's head off. But, that would've only resulted in a Jerry Springer appearance which is probably not as lucrative as a court date.

Joey, why did you move this topic to "Music"??? Kid Rock (Bob Richie) doesen't have anything to do with music.
Just the fact that he hid out at Gretchen Wilsons house should have kept him the other topic. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! |

I think Kid Rock just opened himself up to a big law suit. I wish he would've punched me. I could use some of his money. It doesn't sound like rational behavior to me. |
