Walter,
I'll just bet that you have an endless library of "Bear Family" box sets. Of course, they would be cheaper in your locale than here. How many do you have?

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the flowers, but I don't want to take any credit for that! The work is done by those great research labels who put out all those great compilations with detailed information about the "who, where and when", like Bear Family Records in Germany.
It's like the old joke: "A lawyer doesn't have to know the law, he only needs to know ehere it is written down".
Smiley is of course right, I do have a lot of the Bear Family box sets, besides the music they also do a marvelous job on compiling artist and recording information (although they are not 100% accurate all the time). Smiley, the Patsy Cline information comes from the beautiful 4 CD set "The Patsy Cline Collection" on MCA - a great set that has all studio recordings she ever made plus a lot of transcriptions.
Kind Regards, Walter

Hey Walter, here's one I've never been able to get a definitive answer on. Who played lead guitar on Jean Shepard's recording of "Come On Phone" circa early 70s.
I'm thinking it was Gene Moles, But not certain. |

Ken,
I don't have a definite answer on that specific track, but Billy Sanford played lead guitar on several of the United Artists recordings of Jean Shepard. Maybe it was him!
