As you can see Americans seem to regard us Europeans as a curious breed and to be avoided at all cost . Go to Nashville and enjoy yourselves, its a great place to visit and there's lots to do, but don't expect too much from busy musicians . Even the American players find it tough in that city. There are great gigs but they are hard to find . Ask the musicians where to go when you get there.

Not so Richard or in all cases anyway. If the Boys were coming to FLa I'd bust a butt to get them at least a place to play and not for tips.But I agree take in the town of Gnashville and enjoy.

Hi Frode,

The trouble is that there are many more dynamite musicians in Nashville than gigs. Everybody's trying to get a gig, even for tips. If they get you a gig, they've undermined themselves. It's just the way it is.

It's the same here in Raleigh... guys who have the gigs aren't eager to help the newcomers. I can understand it, but it's unfortunate. The real problem is that there aren't enough places to play.

It's kinda like New York and London, where I've seen wonderful musicians panhandling (and making a mint) in the subways. Our talents are underappreciated!
