I just installed a HipShot open tuner in my Tele and it works wonderfully. It doesn`t have the B- or G- benders;just individual toggles to lower both E strings to D and the A to G.
Has anyone built a lap steel with something like it?With just two toggles you could go from open G open D.Fifth on top, root on top...
Sounds interesting,doesn`t it?

Sorry,it`s three levers you need to go from open G low bass to open D.

Yes. Hipshot makes tailpieces/bridges for guitar or steel guitar with a lever on each string. There are 3 positions (3 notes) for each string.

Hipshot is Dave Borissoff, a steel guitar player.
