Don't know if anyone else caught this show,or where and when it was taped, I happened upon it on C.B.C. in Canada a week or so ago had Shania in black leather(tight black leather) and Alison Krauss, Union Station and the great Jerry Douglas there as well, Shania looked HOT and did all of her newer tunes . It sounded great and so nice to hear it done with all acoustic instruments. I was especially taken with the musical abilities of Union Station and how they approached Shania's music, a very well done and enjoyable program, thx to all involved....

In what was undoubtedly a response to critics carping about her lip-synching at large events, Shania went on a tour of TV shows here last year with her acoustic and nothing else but her voice. "Today", "Oprah" (with Dolly Parton! it was great) and a bunch more and one of them was with Alison and her band. If there was any doubt in my mind about Shania's ability as a singer it's gone. She was right on both with guitar and voice, and her songs work well on just a guitar. It's clear that when she's lip synching on TV it's just a convenience-not a neccessity. I was really blown away by those performances.

What you saw was probably the NBC special that was run around a year ago. I could not agree more with what you said. For us males, you could turn down the sound and watch, or turn off the picture and just listen, and you'd enjoy it either way. I thought the dobro playing was unreal, and her doing the AC/DC song was a nice touch.

Does anyone know if this is out on video?

I think a lot of what you see artists doing these days is determined more by what producers have determined will sell, rather than by the artist's own preferences or talents. Besides Shania, Martina McBride, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley have all impressed me recently with singing and/or playing that indicates they have unplumbed talents. You actually can be both cute and talented, woe is me.
