A while back there was a discussion about the shows on RFD-TV. Porter Wagoner had a steel player, whose name slips me at the present time, played the steel standing up. Today I saw the show again and the steel player was playing a ShoBud and had 2 pedals. The odd thing was the pedals were on the changer end of the guitar. I could tell by the licks and pulls he had pedals. Although he was not considered to be a great speed picker he done very well for the era he was playing in. He also sang harmony with Porter as well. I wonder if he is still living today?

According to Buddy's story, Don's was the 1st.
Dunno if Don's still with us. I'm sure someone does.

Paul & Rex,
Yes, Don is still living. I believe he manages Dolly Parton now, as he has for many years. Jason

Rex, I thank you for the link to that article. I had never seen that before. A lot of great history in this instrument. Shot Jackson must have been a highly intelligent man as well as Buddy Emmons.I believe that Emmons is not only a legendary musician but is highly intelligent as well.
